History

  • City Gate Consultants was formed in 1989 by Allan Millward and had acquired a range of local IFA firms between 1989 and 2000, continuing to look after the needs of a range of clients throughout the UK.
  • Money Managers Ltd was a spin off from Tyndal bank, set up in 1966 and was itself the subject of a Management Buy Out in 1998.
  • After the merger in 2000, City Gate grew to being a significant network IFA, that is a specialist IFA firm providing IFA services itself and technical and compliance backup to a range of smaller local IFA firms.
  • City Gate also grew by acquisition during the period 2000- 2007. It bought over a range of firms throughout the UK. This strengthened its substantial employee benefits and Group pensions business along with building a team of specialised advisers.
  • During 2007 City Gate obtained a passport to advise clients in Spain and has developed a specialised team in parts of that country to service the needs of the growing expatriate community. The business is also working on similar association programmes in the UAE, India and Pakistan
